Possibly my favorite aspect of Aveline’s personality—her belief that people should be free to choose for themselves, and that their actions and reactions are their own. And given the extent to which Hawke & company are blindsided by circumstances beyond their control, I especially value Aveline’s perspective. Which seems to be, essentially, control the things you can.
